THORNTON, CAROL, 52, died Saturday, December 9, 2006 at her residence. A native of Milwaukee, WI, she was a sales representative for Avon and also formerly worked as cashier at both the Service Plus Chevron and Dave's Interstate BP in Shelbyville. Mrs. Thornton was a member of the Catholic Church but also attended Grace Fellowship of Waddy. She was preceded in death by her father, John Franklin Witt; and her brother, Albert John Witt of Finchville. Carol Thornton is survived by her husband, Paul Thornton; two daughters, Christy Mitchell of Mount Eden, and Crystal Moberley of Shelbyville; her mother, Patricia Witt of Copperas Cove, TX; three sisters, Helen Geiger of Osawatomie, KS, Ellen Erickson of Philadelphia, PA, and Mary Washburn of New Albany, IN; and six grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home, with interment in Fairview Cemetery at Todd's Point. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. on Monday, December 11, 2006 at Hall-Taylor. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Louisville.
