Glenn U. Porter, 64, of DeKalb, Illinois, died Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Kishwaukee Hospital.

Born June 1, 1952, in Sycamore, Illinois, he was the son of Walter and Barbara (Miller) Porter. Glenn married Susan Stewart on February 14, 1974, in Sycamore.

Glenn was a graduate of DeKalb High School Class of 1970. He was employed by Johnson Controls for over 25 years. Glenn enjoyed his motorcycle, camping, and bowling.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; his children, Walter (Jennifer) Porter of Belvidere, and Toni Porter of Temple, Texas; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy (Les) Smelcer of Bean Station, Tennessee, and Pam (Clayton) Ile of Russellville, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and his four legged companions, Polly, Beulah, and Mister Bently.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 16, 2016, at Anderson Funeral Home in DeKalb, with the Rev. Eric Wyzard of the Cathedral of Praise officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of services, Friday, at the funeral home.
