Martha Blue Pierce daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend died peacefully on Sunday, September 11, 2016 after a brief illness. "Blue" was born on January 25, 1926 to Calvin Benton Blue and Pearl Evans Blue in the Sandhills of North Carolina near Carthage and grew up with the blessing of eight brothers and sisters. Her Scottish roots shaped her life and the strength of her family gave her a firm foundation which lead to her becoming a registered nurse. She spent her life nurturing and caring for her family and friends and dearly loved every minute of it. It was through her work as a nurse that she met a young ambulance driver named Jack Pierce. Together they bought a funeral home in Kernersville, shared fifty-one years of marriage, three beautiful, caring children and a treasure of happy memories. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, beloved husband Jack, son Mike and daughter Pam. She leaves behind her devoted son Rick and daughter-in-law Beth and many extended family members who will forever be blessed to have known such a remarkable woman. As we say goodbye for now, we know that her love of us was exceeded only by our love for her. We were blessed to know her, love her and laugh with her. We are forever changed by the life of Martha Blue Pierce.
