Gregory T. Carney of Abington, died July 31, after a courageous fight with cancer, at age 67. He was the loving husband of Carol (Shea) Carney of Abington; loving father of Denise Sullivan of Rockland and Jill Mentis and husband George of Abington; loving grandfather of Samantha, Kaitlyn, Michael, and Carly; loving brother of the late Jack Carney and Ronald Carney. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Maureen Carney of E. Taunton and Eileen Shea of Abington; and many nieces and nephews. Gregory was employed at The Patriot Ledger Newspaper for 45 years and retired as a Press-Platemaking Foreman. During retirement he worked part time at the Abington Sunoco gas station. He enjoyed motorcycles, boating, traveling, and loved spending time with his family and friends. A funeral service will be held at the Quealy & Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street, Abington, Thursday, August 4, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held Wednesday 5 to 8 p.m. Interment in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
