LaVerne Aileen Reinhardt, age 92, died Sept. 3, 2016, at her home in Great Bend. She was born Aug. 10, 1924, in Heizer, the daughter of Paul James and Agnes Viola (Schroeder) Pascoe, Jr. LaVerne married Franklin Dale Reinhardt, O.D., December 25, 1950, at Great Bend. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, LaVerne owned and operated Heirloom Creations Quilt Shop. She was a member of Foundry Methodist Church, Gideons International Auxiliary, Girl Scout leader, Boy Scout den mother, and enjoyed quilting, knitting, sewing, woodworking, crocheting, carpentry, and was especially known for her passion for the State of Israel and the Jewish people. She served as past president of the Kansas Optometric Auxiliary in 1965.

Survivors include her husband, Franklin, of the home; two sons, Brent Reinhardt and his wife Janet, of Wichita, Randall Reinhardt, DDS, of Great Bend; two daughters, Roxanne Smith, of Wichita, and Renee Betcher and her husband David, of Leesburg, Va. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Brian Smith, DDS, and wife Emily, Abby Andrus and husband Adam, Rex Reinhardt, Megan Betcher, and Matthew Betcher, Blake Scarmeas and Cole Scarmeas; three great grandchildren, Boone Smith, Vera Smith, and Elsie Andrus; her Vietnamese family, Ban Le Tran, Jackie, Esther, Victor, Remy and Sandy; and her Chinese grandson, Long Zhao. She was preceded in death by one brother, Wendell E. Pascoe, two sisters, Dorothy Larson, and an infant, and a son-in-law, Robert Smith, DDS.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at Foundry Methodist Church in Great Bend, with Rev. Aaron Withrow. A private family inurnment will be held at Great Bend Cemetery at a later date. Bryant Funeral Home.
