Raymond Lester Pittman, 59, formerly of Waycross died Sunday, (September 11, 2016) at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup, Georgia after a sudden illness. Mr. Pittman was born in Waycross to the late Lester Pittman and Nannie Doris Henderson Pittman. He lived most of his life in Waycross and worked for Ware State Prison. He had a passion for the outdoors and his grandchildren. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by two sisters, Charlene Cox and Jannie Ruth Carter.

Mr. Pittman is survived by his wife Janice Pittman of Jesup, Georgia; his children; his grandchildren; his mother, Nannie Doris Henderson Pittman of Waycross; a sister Betty Hall of Waycross; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday (September 14, 2016) at 2:00 p.m. at Suwannee Chapel Church of God of Prophecy. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Miles-Odum Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
