Lorene Bingham Nelson, age 85, of Sweetwater, passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Sweetwater Hospital. She was a long-time member of Glenlock Baptist Church and was affectionately called “Nenny” by most people who knew her. She had a sweet gentle spirit and was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Preceded in death by her parents: John and Mattie Bingham, her husband of 39 years: Basil Nelson, and her siblings: Ben and Charles Bingham, and Lucille Glandon. Her family meant the world to her. She will be missed by all but especially her son and daughter-in law: Ricky and Marilyn Nelson, of Sweetwater, daughters and sons-in-law: Carolyn and Don Clark, of Sweetwater, and Kathy and Byron Ziegler, of Decatur, TN., one sister: Isabelle Morton, of Lebanon, TN. She leaves behind a great legacy of love to her eight grandchildren: Greg Clark, Kristi Correll, LeAnne Campbell, Dana Smith and Amber Nelson, all of Sweetwater, and Beau, Jason, and Ryan Ziegler, of Decatur, TN. Nenny was adored by her ten great-grandchildren: Kade, Kai, and Kolt Correll, Bella, Ava Claire, and Gus Campbell, Kadence and Kennedy Smith, all of Sweetwater, and TJ and Emma Ziegler, of Decatur. Serving as pallbearers will be her four grandchildren, and three grandsons-in-law: Dave Correll, Jon Campbell, and Craig Smith. The family would like to thank Dr. Thomas Evans and Staff, East Tennessee Home Health and Wood Presbyterian Home for their excellent care in recent months. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Kyker Funeral Homes, from 6:00PM until 8:00PM, with the funeral service to follow at 8:00PM in Kyker’s Chapel with Rev. Mitch Isbill and Dr. Gerald Atkins officiating. Interment 11:00AM Wednesday morning in the Sweetwater Memorial Park.
