Robert "Bobby" Davis, 82, of Stonewall, passed away on September 9, 2016 at Anderson Hospital. He was born on February 24, 1934 to James and Maxine (Moore) Davis in Stonewall, MS.
Mr. Davis was an educator and farmer. He graduated with a Bachelors and Masters degree in elementary education from Mississippi Southern College in Hattiesburg, MS. He was the first male elementary teacher in the Hattiesburg Public School System. In 1960, he began his 36 year teaching career with Enterprise School District. He touched many lives in his 40 year career.
Mr. Davis was also a farmer and avid gardener. He loved the land. He raised many animals, farmed many acres and tended, rooted and raised numerous plants and flowers.
Bobby is survived by his daughters, Ashley (Scotty) Sisson and Deborah (Mark) Hudson; sons, Mark (Kelly) Davis and Jeff (Robin) Morland; daughter-in-law, Stella Rendon; grandchildren, Danielle (Eric) Miller, Elaine Ybarra, Chris Morland, Bobby Ray Morland, Jessica (Josh) Melton, Chasity (A.J.) Clay, Casey Hudson, Morgan (Hunter) Trawick, Caitlin Sisson, Jordan Sisson, Cannon Davis, Chloe Godwin, and Anniston Godwin; great-grandchildren, Joshua Miller, Starlin Miller, Erica Miller, Cris Cornett, Harley Morland, Chrislee Rayne Morland, Kole Morland, and Tucker Clay; brother-in-law, Charles (Paulette) McNeil and Jack Davis; sister-in-law, Betty Burns; sister, Deloris Parker; special caretaker, Lesli Pineda and numerous nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Shirley Davis; sons, David Morland and Keith Morland; parents, James Robert and Maxine Davis and brother, Clifton "Buddy" Davis.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2016, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, 11:00 am at the Stonewall Baptist Church, with Dr. Albert McMullen and Rev. Nick Ulmer officiating. Burial will take place in the Enterprise Cemetery.
