Mr. Neal Vander Werff, son at John and Barbara Vander Werff, was born on the 21st of October, 1884, in Marion County, Iowa, and passed away at his home at 510 Washington St., Pella, Iowa, on August 13, 1958, having attained the age of 73 years, 9 months, and 23 days.
On November 10, 1910, he was married to Bessie Dearinger who preceded him in death in 1950. To this union two children were born: Mabel, now Mrs. Lester Boat of Des Moines, Iowa, and Ruby, now Mrs. Delbert Schrader of Reasnor.
In 1952 he married Maggie Hols with whom he shared the last years of his life.
Surviving, besides his wife, are his two children, two grandchildren, and three brothers.
Three other brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
His entire life was spent in the area of Galesburg and Pella where he made many friends and will be missed by all.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 16, at 1:30 p.m. from the Garden Chapel Funeral Home, the Rev. William C. De Jong officiating. Interment was made in the Hewitt Cemetery cast of Reasnor.
Two favorite selections were rendered by Mrs. John Peters, accompanied by Mrs. Everett Vandenberg, namely, "In the Garden" and "Abide With Me."
Serving as casket bearers were: Arthur Vander Werff, Clarence Vander Werff, Dick Vander Werff, Wayne Vander Werff, Howard Dearinger and Clifford Dearinger.
