Russell H. “Sonny” Hawkins, 74, formally of Stafford, transitioned peacefully on Tues., Sept. 6th at MedStar Georgetown University. He had live in the Baltimore, Md. area for over 50 years.
Russell was preceded in death by his father Ernest Hawkins, Sr; one daughter, Shelia “Chatty” Cook and one sister, Virginia Marie Parks.
His memory will be cherished by his devoted daughter, Sandra Hawkins; mother, Marie Cole Hawkins, both of Fredericksburg; six grand-children; three great-grand children; two sisters, Delores Brown, of Fredericksburg and Joyce Harris, of Upper Marlboro, MD; two brothers, Ernest Hawkins, Jr of Stafford and Larry Hawkins, of Woodbridge and a other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home on Tues., Sept. 13th from 6-8 p.m. and 9-11 a.m. Wed. Sept. 14th also at the funeral home.
Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at A.L. Bennett and Son Funeral Home. Burial will be at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Stafford, Va.
