Opal was born on June 7, 1925 in Chillicothe, TX to Homer and Eula Hammons. She was married twice, first to Hassel B. McQueary and second to Joseph Brigham Young.
She was a hard worker living and farming in Pond, CA. She later worked as a nurse in Mena, AR and moved to Sugar Pine, CA in 1992. In 2014 she moved to Sagle, ID.
Opal is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed visiting with the Relief Society Ladies, attending church, and reading the Bible.
She is survived by two sons Milton Young of Alpauh, CA, and Darrell Young of Grannis, AR; two daughters Joann (Ron) Autler of Sagle, ID, and Levita Young of Akron, OH; 14 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, son Jerry McQueary, infant twins Gale Imogene and Dale Eugene, two brothers Larry and Norman, and two sisters Eunice and Mildred.
