Robert G. Charbot

Robert G, Charbot, age 87, of Madison Plaza Apartments, Rome, New York, died Monday, March 25, 2002 in University Hospital, Syracuse, after a long illness.

He was born December 27, 1914 in Portsmouth, Ohio, the son of Glen and Etta Simones Charbot. Mr. Charbot was educated in Rome . On April 24,1937, he married Helen M. Potocki in Transfiguration Church.
Mr. Charbot was employed by New York Central Railroad for several years and later was employed at Rome Catholic High, retiring in 1974. He was a member of Transfiguration Church, active in the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 8. Also, in addition, he was a member of the Rome Polish Home and the Rome Knights of Columbus, Council 391 4th Degree Assembly.
Surviving, besides his wife, are two sons and daughters-in-laws, Robert M. and Marianne Charbot, Sylvan Beach, Gary G. and Marcia Charbot, Ithaca; two sisters Marietta Ryon, Umatilla, Florida, Audrey DeRuby, Rome; five grand, Mark, Denise, Heather, Melissa, Amanda; and two great-granddaughters, Rhilea and Olivia. He was predeceased by three brothers, Walter, Daniel, Jerry, and one sister Anna Louise McCollough.

Funeral services will be held at the Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc. Rome, Friday 11:00 a.m. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday.
