Jack Bellerby
Masonic funeral services are being arranged by E. R. Butterworth & Sons for Jack Bellerby, Alaska pioneer, who died this morning at his home, 1016 Sixth Avenue N., after a short illness. He was 71 years old.
Mr. Bellerby, who was born in Callingwood, Ont., was a guard at the Alaska Steamship Company at the time of his death.
Mr. Bellerby took part in the Klondike gold rush, later settling in Fairbanks, Alaska. Twenty years ago he became associated with the White Pass & Yukon Railroad at Mayo Landing, Yukon Territory. He came to Seattle a year and a half ago.
He was a member of the Yukon Pioneers; Tana Lodge No. 1962, Free & Accepted Masons and the Alaska Consistory, Juneau.
Surviving are his widow, Rose; a son, Lieut. Comdr. R. J. Bellerby, U. S. N.; two brothers, Will and Martin, Ontario, and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Robinson, Callingwood.
