Lester L. "Bud" Moore Sr., 82, of Chicora died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 in Butler Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

He was born Oct. 2, 1933, in Chicora, the son of Lester A. Moore and Dora E. (Emminger) Moore.

He was a 1952 graduate of Concord High School in Hooker and worked at Magnetics in East Butler for 39 years until retirement, where he was a powder core press operator. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Chicora.He enjoyed hunting, gardening and being with his family.

Lester is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Burkett Moore, who he married July 26, 1952. He also is survived by three daughters and their husbands, five sons and their wives, 30 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, two brothers-in-law; and three sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.

Interment in Zion Church Cemetery, Chicora.
