Born in Charleston, WV., she was an Akron resident since 1960. A member of Woodland United Methodist Church, Witan, Alpha Phi International Fraternity, Akron Woman's City Club and the University Club, she had been a board member, past president and president emerita of the Y.W.C.A.
Preceded in death by husbands, Richard M. Ruppenthal and Dr. Alfred C. Buergler, she was survived by her sons, Carl F. Buergler of Dayton and Robert P.F. Buergler of Chicago, and many nieces and nephews.
Service were held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 24, 2013 at the Billow Fairlawn Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd., with Pastor Debbie Gibbons officiating. Interment was at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials were to be made to the Y.W.C.A of Summit County, 220 S.
