Miss Etta Beck, Hames Street, Dies After Illness
Miss Etta Mae Beck, 76, of 22 Hames Street, the Erlanger community, died at 12:50 p.m. Friday at Rowan Memorial Hospital in Salisbury following an illness of four weeks.
She was born in Davidson County March 18, 1896 to Stephen Curtis and Flora Walser Beck. She was a member of Erlanger Baptist Church and a retired employee of Erlanger Mills.
Surviving are three sisters, Miss Vergie Beck of 22 Hames Street, Mrs. Ulis Barneycastle of R. 5, Lexington, and Mrs. W. C. Harmon of R. 5, Thomasville; and one brother, Samuel Curtis Beck of Graham.
Funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Erlanger Baptist Church by Rev. Leon Keefe and Rev. Dale Martin. The body will be placed to lie in state in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be in Beck's Cemetery in Churchland.
The body will be taken to the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Bill McBride of Churchland at 5 p.m. today.
