Sandra Helen Helm, age 79, died Friday, August 14, 2016 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born March 7, 1937 in American Falls, Idaho to Helen Spalding Berlin and Terry Franklin Berlin. She married Manford Frank Helm, September 30, 1960 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She is survived by her daughter, Leslie Anne Helm Stone; her son, Robert Frank Helm; her son-in-law, Harry (Hal) Alfred Stone Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Laura Alean Helm; her grandsons, Harry Alfred Stone III, William Spalding Douglas Stone, Jonah Robert Helm, Lucas Presley Helm; her granddaughter, Grace Maleia Helm, all of Salt Lake City, Utah; and her sister, Sharon Beth Berlin of Langley, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frank and her son, Mark Alan Helm.
Sandra graduated from Idaho State University with a degree in Nursing, and later earned a Masters Degree in Psychiatric Nursing from the University of Utah. Sandra loved trips to San Francisco, gardening in her courtyard, celebrating birthdays and holidays with her family, reading the Sunday edition of the New York Times, drinking lattes from Starbucks, shopping at Nordstrom, and baking cookies that she sent to her grandchildren off at college and camp. Sandra was our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and we will miss her with all of our hearts.
A Memorial Service was held Saturday, August 27th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Margaret's Chapel, located on the Rowland Hall-St. Mark's McCarthey Campus, 720 Guardsman Way, Salt Lake City, Utah. Sandra would be so honored if donations were made in her name to the Idaho Youth Ranch, 5465 West Irving Street, Boise, Idaho 83706, 1-877-817-8141.
