Ivy D. Manuel was born February 10, 1953 in Los Angeles, California to her parents Robert (Burt) Manuel and Theresa E. Manuel both of whom preceded her in death. She was the sixth of seven siblings.
Ivy attended school in Compton, California where she graduated from Compton Senior High in 1971. While attending high school Ivy was a member of the marching band and book club which launched a lifelong passion for music and reading.
It was also at Compton High School where Ivy fell deeply for the love of her life and future husband Richard A. Jones. Ivy and Richard were married on November 18, 1972. This marriage produced 43 years of loving and blessed years. In 1981 the Jones family, determined to make a safe and wholesome environment to raise their family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and eventually to Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
Here Ivy lived, loved, and pursued her many, many hobbies and interests including music, dance, home decorating, fishing and NOT the least collecting recipes and cooking some of the most awesome meals ever! Ivy was a very involved member in the Jones Family Reunion Committee for many years.
On Saturday, June 6, 2015 Ivy was called home and leaves to honor her memory husband Richard A. Jones; sons Richard A. Jones Jr. (Andrea), Tulsa, OK, Justin Jones (Gina), Wilmington, CA; daughter DeAnna Jones, Tulsa, OK; sisters Rena Manuel, Seattle, WA, Latricia Risby, Independence, MO; brothers Ramon Risby, Tulsa, OK, Robert Manuel Jr. (Gail), Long Beach, CA, Michael Manuel, Pomona, CA, Kerwin F. Manuel (deceased) (Silvia) Seattle, WA; grandchildren Jesston, Morris, Ahmani Jones, Erin Jones, Richard Jones III, Charli Jones and DeAndre' Jones; and finally countless other friends and relatives who will all look forward to being graced with her presence at our promised Reunion at the end!
