Alfred Louis Franke, 66, a lifelong resident of the Grand Traverse region, died suddenly this morning at his home, 209 West Fifteenth street. Mr. Franke who was engaged in farming activities most of his life, was born September 1, 1886 on the Franke homestead, one mile south of Traverse City. On December 24, 1917 he was united in marriage to Edith Barnes. He is survived by his widow; seven children, Robert, Mrs. Floyd Norris, William, Mrs. LeRoy Schneider and Mrs Harry Grennay all of this city, James serving in the Navy at Great Lakes, Ill., and Jack at home; one sister Mrs. Elizabeth Gribe of this city; 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 from the Hibbard Chapel with Rev. Marshall Rogers pastor of the First Christian church officiating. Interment will be made in the mausoleum until spring when burial will be made in the family lot in Oakwood cemetery.
