Born on July 8, 1965, in Sumter, she was a daughter of Deacon Purley and Annie Mae Wilson. She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. She furthered her education by attending and graduating from Lander College, where she received her bachelor of science in August 1987. Being reared in a Christian home, she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior when she joined Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Bishopville. She remained a faithful member of the church until she married U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Tyson Lynn Green Sr. in 1991. From the time they married, life became a true adventure.
