Doris Kathryn Lanford Brock, 88, wife of the late John Robert Brock, Sr., of 207 South Lovingood Avenue, Walhalla, SC, died Friday, April 1, 2016 at Cottingham Hospice House. A native of Oconee County, Mrs. Brock was the daughter of the late William Marshall and Sarah Esther Albertson Lanford. She was in the Red Hat Society and a member of the First Baptist Church of Walhalla. Mrs. Brock is survived by her sons: John R. Brock, Jr. of Anderson, SC, and David B. Brock and wife Susan of Winder, GA; daughters: Susan Brock-Booker of Walhalla, SC and Kathryn B. Weddle and husband Joe of Pulaski, VA; special sister-in-law: Mary Brock Thomas; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Brock was preceded in death by sisters: Millicent Quinn, Wilma Mize, and Muris Vincent. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 4, 2016, at Davenport Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at West View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Davenport Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to: St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family is at the residence.
