Harmon Limes, Jr. was born near Winchester, Frederick County, Virginia on October 22, 1791. He married Mary McKee Limes on March 25, 1813 in Frederick County, Virginia. His parents were Harmon Limes, Sr. and Ann Burnett Limes.

Harmon Limes, Jr.'s brothers were William and Henry. His sister was named Margaret, who married Joshua Bishop, Jr.

Harmon Limes, Jr. was the first appointed Marshal of (North) Lewisburg. He was also a Justice of the Peace and served on the school board in (North) Lewisburg, Champaign County, Ohio.

On July 29, 2006, a new Ohio Historical Society marker was placed on the grounds of the Friends (Quaker) Church and Cemetery in North Lewisburg. Harmon Limes, Jr. was buried at the Friends Cemetery. His name, among others, appears on the marker.
