Margaret Viola “Vi” Smith, 82, of Duncan passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016 at her home in Duncan surrounded by her loving family. Vi was born at Shamrock, Texas on April 14, 1934 the daughter of Aaron Cornelius and Adelia D. (Worley) Burrell.
She graduated from the Kelton High School at Kelton, Texas in 1952. She and Orian Harlan “O.H.” Smith were married at Clovis, New Mexico on May 19, 1952 and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2008. She was a member of the Ray of Hope Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. She enjoyed playing cards, shopping at Walmart, watching old westerns and spending time with her family. She was also preceded in death by her parents, great grandchildren Kristian Brook Arnold and Shelby Lynn Biffle and 23 siblings.
Survivors include two sons Bill Smith and his wife Betty of Amarillo, Texas and Johnny Smith of Duncan; two daughters Carla Miller and her husband Monty and Adele Whiteley and husband Dan both of Duncan; grandchildren Elizabeth Stevens of Duncan, Daiquiri Shelton of Duncan, Starlette Helton and her husband Jason of Amarillo, Texas; Zachariah Smith of Amarillo, Texas; Jami Mascaro and her husband Brison, Utah; Wade Miller and his wife Mandy of Duncan and Jeremiah Johnson and his wife Krys of Piedmont, Oklahoma; 19 great grandchildren and a sister Patricia Montgomery of Payson, Arizona.
Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday in the Ray of Hope Church with Reverend Mike McCord officiating. Interment will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
