Brenda Faye Combs, 68, of Burlington, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2015.

A native of Alamance County, Brenda was the daughter of the late Buel S. Combs, Sr. and the late Irene Riley Combs.

Brenda was a 1965 graduate of Southern High School and graduated from Alamance Community College with an Associate's Degree in accounting. Brenda worked as a bookkeeper for several local businesses before retiring from the Alamance County Sheriff's Department.

Brenda was a kind and gentle person who will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by three sisters, Beatrice Campbell, Kathylene Biggerstaff and Sally Combs; a brother, Fred H. Combs; a sister-in-law, Joyce Combs and two brothers-in-law, Roy Lee Campbell and Harry Karnes.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Nathan Hooks. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
