Mary Essie Williams, age 82, of Crestview, Fla., passed away at a local hospital.

She was born in Georgia and moved here from Tampa, Fla., in the 1950's. Mary was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her heart was her family and she took great pride in her grandchildren. She was lovingly known as "Granny Great" by her great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Buster Williams of Crestview; daughter, Brenda and Donnie Martin of Baker, Fla.; brother, Noma Lassiter of Lake Wales, Fla.; sisters, Bessie Masey of Wildwood, Fla., Gladys Sabah, Effie McMullen, Betty Shields and Stella Hall, all of Lake Wales, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, Sept. 4, at 10 a.m. at Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home with burial to follow at Liveoak Park Memorial Cemetery.

Whitehurst-Powell Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
