Peter A. Cooper of Hilkert Road, Danville, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016 at his son’s home.

Born in Liberty Twp., Montour Co., he was the son of the late Henry C. and Florence M. (Tanner) Cooper.
Peter was married to the former Patricia K. Yost on April 13, 1952, and celebrated 64 years of marriage.

Peter was a 1946 graduate of Milton High School, and later attended Bucknell and Rutgers University.

Also he was in the US Army Air Corp during World War II serving as a Sergeant.

During his childhood her held jobs of delivering papers and magazines, with later working at American Food and Morris Budman Auto Body Shop. While at college Peter worked at Azinger Furniture Store in Milton and at the Penna Railroads. After he was married he worked at Azingers Furniture, then Glassin Paper Company as a chemist in Philadelphia. From there he then went to work at SKF Ball Bearing Company in Philadelphia as a study engineer, and working at Lycoming Motors in Williamsport as a time study engineer. Then moving to New Jersey he took a job with Hubeny Brothers in Quality Control in Rosell Park and Metal Textile as a Quality Control Engineer. Finally when he moved back to PA he worked as a salesman for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company until his retirement.

He was a former member of Pottsgrove Presbyterian Church, St. John’s Reform Church of McEwensville, and Isilin Presbyterian Church of Isilin, NJ. Currently he was a member of Grove Presbyterian Church, Danville, were he was a Deacon and member of the sassion, couple’s club and breakfast club.

Peter was a member of Milton Aviation Club and CAP Civil Air Patrol. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and working in his work shop.

Surviving besides his wife are his son: Peter A. (Linda) Cooper, Jr. of Danville; daughter: Elaine B. (David) Thomas of Danville; Grandchildren: Daniel, Stacie Thomas; Peter Cooper III, Kerri, Phil Bailey; and one great-granddaughter: Katrina Cooper.

Funeral Service: Grove Presbyterian Church, 332 Bloom Rd., Danville
with the Rev. Robert John Andrews, officiating.
Following the service burial will take place in Presbyterian Cemetery, McEwensville.
