LESLIE R. GRANT A graveside service with military honors for Leslie Ray Grant, 97 of Capay will be held at 1p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the Odd Fellows Cemetery on County Rd. P. in Orland. A reception will be held at Scotty's Boat Landing immediately following. He passed away on August 27, 2016. Les was born in Paso Robles, Ca. to Frederick and Ina Grant. One of the founding Scottish families in the area on September 13, 1918.On March 15, 1956, he married Edna Nunez in Ketchikan , Alaska. They were married for 49 years until her passing in May of 2005. He enjoyed being an outdoorsman, hunting, fishing and traveling with family and friends. He was proud to have served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Naval Aviation Electrician's Mate First Class. Les was employed by Western Electric Telephone Company and after 40 years retired as an Orbit Supervisor. He is sur-vived by his daughter Leslie of Capay, a son Barry of Santa Clara, "adopted" son and fishing partner John of Chico, stepdaughters: Gloria of Chico and Nancy of Los Gatos. 19 grandchildren , 32 great grandchildren and 4 great great grand-children He sadly leaves behind his good buddy, hunting and fishing partner Howard and his wife Virginia of Orland. He was preceded in death by his parents Frederick and Ina, his wife Edna, stepdaugh-ters Gerry and Elizabeth, stepson Robert; sons in law Jim and Tony and his sister Lee.
