Marian J. Cripps, 65, of Fort Dodge, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the Fort Dodge Health and Rehab Center.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, February 27, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home.

Marian is survived by her son, Mike (Dawn) Cripps of Fort Dodge; friend and longtime companion, Jake Bignar of Clinton; step-children, Jeff (Beth) Smith of Summitt, MS; Robert Bignar of Las Vegas, NV; Danny Bignar of Clinton; grandchildren, Ron Jr. (Carla) Cundiff of Miles, IA; Ashlee Marie (Matthew) Fuegen of Goose Lake, IA; Cole Kenney of Port Byron, IL; Morgan Smith and Wyatt Smith of Summitt, MS; Aiden and Tavin Bignar both of Clinton; niece, Amber Lyftogt; nephew, Justin (Candi) Lyftogt; brothers, Gordon (Yvonne) Lyftogt of Fort Dodge; Kenneth (Linda) Lyftogt of Cedar Falls.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Audrey (Jones) Lyftogt; great nephew, Taylor Kelly.

Marian Jo Lyftogt was born on April 28, 1950 in Farmington, MN. Her family later moved to Fort Dodge, and she graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High in 1968. Marian continued her education at Morningside College and received her bachelor's degree in Medical Technology. Marian worked at Mercy Medical center in Clinton for 20 years. She then worked in home health care until her retirement. Marian enjoyed life and especially treasured time spent with grandchildren.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

I contacted the funeral home by e-mail and found out that Marian was cremated and the ashes were given back to family. No other information. So the burial information should be cremated instead of unknown. I have a copy of that email correspondence, if needed.
