David W. Mounts, 65, of Shelby, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 6, 2016.
David was born on March 13, 1951, in Louisa, KY, to John V. and Olive M. (Addis) Mounts. David loved his family, and especially loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed listening to music and singing. He also enjoyed coon hunting, and boxing.
He is survived by four children, John Wesley (Rebecca) Mounts and Jody (Michael) Rowe, both of Lexington, Keisha (Jimmy) Curry of Mansfield, and Samantha (Jon) Willoughby of Shelby; eleven grandchildren, Sarra (Jason) Wilfong, Hunter Mounts, Dustin (Stephanie) Wilson, Kaitlin (Zac) Patrick, Hailey Curry, Michael Rowe, Mary Spreng, Tia White, Summer Willoughby, Joel Willoughby, and Reagan Willoughby; twelve great grandchildren, Dezarai Wilfong, Jason Wilfong, Hayden Lykins, Brantley Lykins, Taylor Wilson, Madelyn Wilson, Gracie Wilson, Lincoln Wilson, Amani White, Anthony White, Amora White, and Alana White; six siblings, Kathleen Cooper, Gloria Jean Cox, Richard (Becky) Mounts, Elaine (Fred) Rose, Kenneth (Betty) Mounts, and Carl (Sharon) Mounts, all of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews, including special nieces and nephews, Dennis Cooper, Diane Cooper, and Kenny (Gina) Cooper.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Mounts.
Family and friends may gather at 11:30 a.m, on Monday, September 12, 2016, at Christian Life Center, 961 Springmill St, Mansfield, to celebrate David’s life. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Mansfield Cemetery.
