Sharon Rose Markeson, 86, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016 at her home in Idaho Falls. Sharon ,affectionately known as "The Cook" by her late husband Lee, was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many.

Sharon was born on April 24, 1930 to Orrin and Erma Rose in Idaho Falls. She grew up in Shelley, Idaho and was Class Valedictorian of her graduating class at Shelley High School.

Sharon married Leland C. Markeson on October 30, 1947 in a civil ceremony in Las Vegas. They farmed in Idaho Falls before moving to Washington, Oregon and eventually to Sacramento, California. Together they raised four children.

She was a homemaker and worked for Sears before Sharon and Leland together owned and operated The Sacramento Camper Shop. They specialized in RV maintenance and repair for over 26 years. Sharon loved spending time with family, RVing, boating, PGA Golf, a little gaming entertainment and growing beautiful roses.

Sharon returned to Idaho Falls in 1999 to be with family and to enjoy Idaho. Sharon will long be remembered for her consistently positive attitude and her ability to share kindness and unconditional love with everyone she met.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Shirley Rose (Drucilla Wheeler Rose), Clayton Rose (Virgie Rose), husband, Leland C. Markeson, son, Ryan L Markeson, son-in-law, William (Bill) Jones, great granddaughter, Faith Ava Reign Markeson and beloved longtime companion, Richard C. Markeson.

She is survived by her three daughters, Lana Bachman (Todd) of Minden, Nev., Cindy Wilder (Cecil Jr.) of Sacramento, Calif., Cheryl Jones of Idaho Falls, daughter-in-law, Nila Markeson and her grandchildren she loved dearly, Adam Markeson (Rebekah), Andrew Wilder, Arthur (AJ) Jones, Austin Bachman, Darren Wilder (Elizabeth), Nicole Luben (Cale), sister-in-law, Elaine Johnson, nieces, nephews and five great grandchildren.

Arrangements under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley. Everyone is welcome to attend the Graveside Memorial Service at Taylor Cemetery (447-479 E 129 S, Idaho Falls, 83404) on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 11:30 a.m., with a reception directly following at the LDS 39th Ward Bldg (7940 N 35 W, in Osgood).
