Civil War Union Army Officer. Served during the Civil War as 1st Lieutenant and Regimental Adjutant of the 106th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. He was mortally wounded on July 2, 1863 during the Battle of Gettysburg, and died in Philadelphia on August 1, 1863. Originally interred in the now defunct Monument Cemetery in Philadelphia.
