Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 9, 2016 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Charleston, with Father Hyland Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Kickapoo Cemetery, rural Charleston. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Arrangements: Harper-Swickard. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Lincolnland Hospice.
Eleanor was born February 24, 1938 at Mattoon, daughter of Albert Lawrence and Evelyn Anna (Emmerich) Kastl. She married Jerry J. Cox, November 2, 1957 at Charleston; he died April 23, 2008. She is survived by their son: Darrell Cox of Ashmore; two sisters: Mary Ann Lenhart of Charleston and Jean Goodwin of Mattoon; one sister-in-law: Virginia Kastl of Lerna; neighbors: Steve and Angie Childress of Ashmore, and their sons: Stevie and Jack, whom she treated as grandchildren; and two dear friends: Vicki Bishop of Neoga and Wanda Warpenburg of Charleston. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother: Richard Kastl.
Eleanor retired from Moore Business Forms. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Eleanor loved working in her gardens and taking care of animals.
