Willie Charles “W.C.” Nordan, 81, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016 at MS Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.

Visitation will be 5-8pm Friday, September 9, 2016 and 1pm until the 2pm funeral service Saturday, September 10 at Chancellor Funeral Home in Byram. Interment will follow at Terry Cemetery.

Mr. Nordan was born in Lincoln County, MS to the late Vernon Council Nordan and Fannie Esther Crawford Nordan. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, a 32 degree Mason at Leavell Woods Lodge, and a York & Scottish Rite Wahabi Temple Shriner.

W.C. retired from the Jackson Police Department as Commander of the Helicopter Unit and later was owner/operator of the Log Cabin Store and owned a landscaping business.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Nancy Nordan of Byram; sons, Charles Nordan II, of Jacksonville, FL, Edward Nordan of Henderson, NV, Robert (Priscilla) Nordan of Clinton; daughters, Esther (Jett) Herring of Madison, Phyllis Robinson of Ridgeland, Gabie (Eric) Brown of Jackson and Emma Nordan of Jackson; four grandchildren and one great grandson.
