JONESPORT- After a long battle against Alzheimer's, Carrie L. (Faulkingham) Sabourin, 83 years old, passed away Saturday morning, September 3, 2016 in Jonesport, ME. She was born on September 26, 1932 in Jonesport, daughter of the late William S. Faulkingham and the late Katie (Alley) Faulkingham.
Carrie dedicated much of her time to gospel music ministry with her husband, Lucien. She was a self-taught piano and guitar player. Carrie enjoyed singing too. She was a member of the Downeast Christian Church in Harrington. She loved going to camp on Goose Island, having friends over, and picking berries. Carrie had her lobster fishing license. In the 1970's, she owned and operated the Snack Shack in Addison.
She is survived by her daughter, Dianne (Sabourin) Lovejoy and son-in-law, Blair Lovejoy of Jonesport; two grandsons- Kristopher Peabody of Holden, ME and Joshua Peabody of Corinth, ME; two great-granddaughters- Zoe Peabody and Olivia Coulter, both of Winterport, ME; brother- Nonie Faulkingham of Jonesport, ME; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law of Connecticut and several nieces and nephews.
Carrie was predeceased by her husband, Lucien Sabourin; son- Ricky Sabourin; 10 brothers and sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Activity Fund at Sunrise Care Nursing Home 11 Ocean Street Jonesport, ME.Special thanks to Holly Tyler and all of the staff at Sunrise Care Nursing Home in Jonesport for all of the care they gave my mom.
Memorial service is scheduled for 1pm, September 18, 2016 at Greenwood Cemetery in Jonesport. A celebration of life reception will follow at Dianne's home in Jonesport.
