Son of Lucina Murch and Amos Austin, Delancy was born in New York and moved to Wisconsin at a very early age with his family. In 1878, at age 27, he married Araminta Mack in Lynchburg, VA. Their daughter, Georgie Lee Austin was born in 1885. Delancy's next record places him in Richmond, VA, widowed, with Georgie and in 1889, age 38, he marries Virginia Lee Bowler. At his death at age 52 he was survived by daughter Georgie; wife, Virginia; sons Earl (b1891),William (1892), Delancy Jr (1895), Herman (1898)and daughter Josephine (1900).
