Beverly G. Adjutant, 87, of Saco, passed away early Wednesday morning on September 7, 2016, at her home.

She was born in Portland on February 18, 1929, a daughter of Carl and Mildred (O’Neal) Johnson. She graduated from Portland High School, class of 1947, where she received the Brown Medal of Scholastic Honors.

Beverly was employed by Mercy Hospital in Portland for 12 years. She also worked for Bancroft and Martin in South Portland for 26 years and retired in 1994 from the Salvation Army after 10 years.

Beverly was kind and thoughtful. She enjoyed reading, eating out and visiting with friends. She especially liked to be with the people she loved.

Mrs. Adjutant was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church for over 50 years.

She was predeceased by her husband Roland on January 28, 2009 and by one brother Carl S. Johnson Jr., one sister Evelyn H. Greaves and two nephews William J. Greaves and Jeffrey L. Greaves.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews and her special friend Cathy M. Young.

Visiting Hours will be from 2-5PM Sunday, September 11, 2016, at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James Street, Saco. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM Monday, September 12, 2016, at Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco.
