Mr. John Wayne Vestal, 76, was called home to our Savior on Tuesday, September 06, 2016.

He was born May 1, 1940 in Yadkin County to the late Clarence Grant and Joyce Hoots Vestal.

Johnny served for six years in the Air National Guard and later retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 33 years of service.

He was a member of Unity Moravian Church where he served as an usher and helped out in many other capacities.

He loved fishing, NASCAR, listening and dancing to beach music, making paper Moravian Stars, and spending time with his friends for breakfast at Bojangles.

He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Lynn Cox-Yoder.

Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Hilda Stewart Vestal; brother, Ronnie Vestal (Reta) of Yadkinville; brother-in-law, G. Wesley Stewart (Kay) of High Point; brother-in-law, Allen Yoder of Clemmons and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, September 9, 2016 at Unity Moravian Church with Rev. Barry Foster and Rev. Bill McElveen officiating.

Burial will follow in the church graveyard.

The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity Moravian Church, 8300 Concord Church Rd., Lewisville, NC 27023.
