Charles Leslie Sanders was the son of George R and Matilda Babcock Sanders. He had four sisters: Alvira C , Martha M, Ella Belle and Elizabeth Helen. He was a third generation farmer in Livingston County. His grandparents, McKinstry and Anna Colburn Sanders, settled In their Oceola Township farm in 1837. Charles' family worked their 80 acre farm. His Uncles, Nathan M Sanders and Aaron Sanders, also had farms in Livingston County. Charles became ill and died in the Constantine Hospital at age 69. His body was originally interred in the Lakeview Cemetery mausoleum but it was torn down in the 1970's. His remains were moved to a plot near his parents and sisters.
