Phillip Porter Farmer, son of the late Theo Everett Farmer and Metz Irene Peters Farmer, was born January 30, 1940 in De Valls Bluff, Arkansas. He departed this life September 6, 2016 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 7 days. He spent his life as a loving, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, provider and friend. He was united in marriage to Kathy Page on July 3, 1963 in Blytheville, Arkansas and to this union two children were born. During his working years, he worked as a plant manager. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Grace Fellowship Church in Dolph, Arkansas. He was active in the community affairs of Jordan, serving as a founding member of the Brunner Hill Water Board and as Assistant Fire Chief of the Rodney Fire Department. He was a member of the Adams Masonic Lodge #164 in Norfork, Arkansas.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Kathy Farmer of the home; one son and daughter-in-law: Phillip and Nancy Farmer of Jordan; one daughter and son-in-law: Lisa and Allan Bounds of Jonesboro; six grandchildren: Kassandra Phillip and husband Blake of Paragould, Kortney Smith and husband Wes of Paragould, Joshua Hargett of Jonesboro, Cody Bounds and wife Laura of Jonesboro, Falyn Farmer of Jordan and Dallas Farmer of Jordan; two great grandchildren: Khloe Grace Phillips and Kinsley Porter Smith and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters.

Graveside funeral service will be Friday, September 9, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Hand Cemetery in Jordan, Arkansas with Wayne Wood officiating.

Pallbearers: Dallas Farmer, Allan Bounds, Cody Bounds, Joshua Hargett, Wes Smith, Blake Phillips

Honorary Pallbearers: Robert Skidmore, Doug Hughes, Larry Moody and Fred Ramey.
