Dorothy Louise Ashley, age 90, of Bristol, VA., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
She was born January 12, 1926, a daughter of the late Frank and Roxie McCormick.
Mrs. Ashley was a lifelong resident of the Bristol area. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and lived each day for the Lord.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Ashley; sons, Larry D. Ashley, and Denny A. Ashley; grandson, Shawn P. Ashley; sisters, Christine Pare, Arlene Bates, and Della Arnold.
She is survived by her sons, Bobby W. Ashley and wife Carolyn, Gary L. Ashley and wife Debbie, Terry D. Ashley and wife Donna; daughters-in-law, Carol Lee Ashley and Faye Ashley; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. The family extends a special thanks to her little helper and checker player, Jacob Shawn Ashley.
The funeral service for Mrs. Ashley will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Sizemore officiating. .
The committal service and interment will be at 12 noon on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 in Mountain View Cemetery.
