Carol Higgins Baldwin, 88, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016, in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born in Lincoln on August 17, 1928, the daughter of Dean and Oleta Gunn Higgins.

Carol's childhood was spent in Tecumseh, Ravenna, and Broken Bow, Nebraka. She was a graduate of Broken Bow High School, and she earned a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and a Master of Science in Education from Chadron State College.

Carol was united in marriage to Jerry D. Baldwin in 1951. First Lieutenant Baldwin, USAF, was lost in action over Korea in 1953.

Carol worked for Continental Airlines, Denver, Colorado, and the Denver and Chadron (Nebraska) Public Schools. She taught at the Hay Springs (Nebraska) and Chappell (Nebraska) Public Schools, and the Department of Defense Overseas School at Seoul, South Korea. Her later years were spent in Ogallala, Beatrice, and Lincoln. She was a PEO sister of Chapter Z, Beatrice.

Carol was preceded in death by: her parents; and brother, John (Jack) Higgins.

Survivors include: nieces, Ann Stoeger, Sue Riley, and Gwen Currier; nephew, Scott Higgins; and Higgins and Gunn cousins.

Family committal service at Lincoln Memorial Park.
