Justin William Kramer “Mick”, 77, of Cedar Rapids, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 4, 2016 at his home in Cedar Rapids.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 11am at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 4-8pm at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will take place following the funeral at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Justin was born on February 21, 1939 in Dyersville, Iowa to Harold and Marcella (Jaeger) Kramer.

He was united in marriage to Dolores Ann Franks on November 24, 1962 in Mason City, Iowa.

He graduated from Loras College and earned his Master’s Degree from the University of Iowa. Justin was a huge advocate for Catholic schools, teaching at both Regis and Xavier High School for over 50 years, his passion was teaching Latin. He was also a guidance counselor, drivers ed instructor, and a basketball and golf coach. His friends and family knew him as “Mick” for his early baseball success and his love for the New York Yankees. He was a dedicated Xavier Saints and Iowa Hawkeye fan. However, his greatest passion of all was going to his grandchildren’s school and sporting events including golf, softball, tennis, soccer, basketball, and cross country to name a few. He would do anything to see and support his grandchildren.

Justin is survived by his children, Mary (Brad) Goodfellow of Iowa City and Joe (Angie) Kramer; grandchildren: Bailee (Drew), Madison, JD, Rylee, Brian (Ashlee), Lyndsie, Kayla, Abi, Nolan, Zach, Jenna, and Josie; his great-granddaughter M.J.; and his siblings Thomas (Judy) Kramer and Angie (Ron) Haight.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 48 years, Dolores, and his sister Bernie Wagner.
