“Myron Hilsinger, 76, died at his home in the town of Carlisle Saturday, January 2nd. He had been in poor health for the past year but had been critically ill for about two weeks. Mr. Hilsinger was born April 24, 1860 in the town of Carlisle on the farm which has been in the family since around 1770. He was the son of Adam Hilsinger and Clarissa (Hiller) Hilsinger and married Miss Emma Borst of Sharon in 1892. Mr. Hilsinger was a respected man, active in community affairs, had served as a member of the board of Supervisors, was president of the Slate Hill Cemetery association for nearly forty years and agent and adjuster for the Carlisle, Seward and Sharon Mutual Fire Insurance company. He was a member of the Rock District Grange and the Lutheran Church of Little York. The funeral was held at the family home near Little York at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Nicholas Paris of Oneonta, pastor of the Argusville Lutheran church, officiated. Two vocal selections were given by Ralph Becker and Allison Nuttall. The bearers, directors of the Slate Hill cemetery association, were Daniel Kilts, Clarence Bellinger, Henry Kimmey and Virgil Mereness. Interment was in Slate Hill cemetery. He is survived by his widow; two sons, Hiller, present supervisor of the town of Carlisle, and John of Warnerville; two daughters, Mrs. Elmer Young of Carlisle, and Miss Pearl H. Hilsinger, an employe of the Cobleskill telephone office; a sister, Mrs. Martha Stiles of South New Berlin; three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.” [The Cobleskill Index (Cobleskill, NY), Jan. 7, 1937, Page 6]
