DR. JUANITA JONES WALLACE was born to the union of Mrs. Haley Jones & Reverend Robert T. Jones of Alabama.

She is a retired educator with the Dallas Independent School District. She led the Dallas NAACP for six years and resigned in 2014.

Her "fiery advocacy for civil rights spanned more than 20 years".

DR. JUANITA JONES WALLACE, former Dallas NAACP President, transitioned from this life to her heavenly home on Sunday, September 4, 2016.

Family Hour & Wake was scheduled from 7-9 pm on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Garland, Texas.

"Commemorating The Life of a Warrior Service" was held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church located at 1019 South 1st Street in Garland, Texas.

DR. JUANITA JONES WALLACE was laid to rest on the grounds of Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, John Jones and Leo Mosley; and a grandson, Trey Wilson.

She leaves to cherish her memory her two daughters; two sons; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a devoted sister and brother-in-law; a very special friend, Dr. Edward Brown; an ever-loving ex-husband, David Mansfield Wallace; and a host of other relatives.

The funeral directors with Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home of Dallas, Texas supervised the funeral services and managed the burial arrangements.
