Gary Lee Vanderpool, age 81, of White Hall, died Friday, September 2, 2016.

Born December 27, 1934 at Hastings, Iowa, he was a son of the late Gene Vanderpool and Merle Davis Vanderpool.

He was reared and educated at Marysville, WA, and also attended Fuhr Business College.

Mr. Vanderpool served in the United States Army, and moved to Pine Bluff in 1954, where he was stationed at the Pine Bluff Arsenal until 1958.

He worked at Mid-America Packaging for 31 years, and retired in 2000. He was also a member of the Paper Workers International Union, Local 619.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Carolyn Green Vanderpool, to whom he was married on February 10. 1956 at Greenville, MS; four sons, Mark Vanderpool (Charlotte), Rick Vanderpool, Scott Vanderpool, and Jeff Vanderpool (Victoria); seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; along with four brothers and four sisters residing in Washington State.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.

There will be a private family graveside service and burial in Hickory Grove Cemetery at Star City.
