Bruce L. Harper, 52, of Millwood formerly of Bandytown, WV went to be with the Lord and all those who left before him on September 2, 2016.
He was born April 27, 1964 in Madison, WV, the only son of the late Wilford Harper and Frances Elise Harper of Millwood. Bruce was a friend to many and never met a stranger. He was a loving devoted husband, son and father. Nothing made him happier than spending time with his family and friends. He loved hunting and fishing and spent this past spring teaching his young son the joy of fishing. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Heather Childers Harper of Millwood; his daughters, Sarah Harper of Delaware and Frances Jill Harper of Ravenswood; and his son, William Ayden Harper of Millwood; one aunt, Lila Fiederlein of Meriden, Connecticut whom he loved like a mother, ; one uncle, Edward Farley of Texas; mother and father-in-law, William and Georgia Childers of Tunnelton, WV; sister-in-law and spouse, Jennifer and Billy Layne of Paragould, Arkansas; brother-in-law and spouse, K.C. and April Childers of Morgantown, WV; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was loved by many and will be missed forever. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Bruce’s name to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. Services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Tim Bailey officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
