FORT FAIRFIELD – Sarah J. Everett, 85, wife of the late Kenneth W. Everett, passed away, Saturday, Oct. 23, 2004 at a Presque Isle nursing facility following a brief illness. She was born Sept. 29, 1919 at Van Buren, the daughter of Charles E. Sr. and Dora (Levesque) Michaud. Sarah graduated from the Fort Fairfield High School in 1938, was married to Kenneth W. Everett on June 30, 1942, and was employed at the former Presque Isle Air Base until its closing. Sara had also been employed as a dental assistant for Dr. Donald Cassidy for many years. She was a communicant of the St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield, a lifetime member of the Beta Sigma Phi, lifetime member of the Philamatheon Club, Fort Fairfield, a charter member of the Fort Fairfield Alumni, Assoc., a past member of the daughters of Isabella, Santa Maria Circle No. 427, Fort Fairfield. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth W. Everett on Nov. 2, 1991; three brothers, Oscar Michaud, Claude Michaud, and Charles Michaud Jr.; two sisters, Theresa Duffy, Rowena Mazrolle; one grandson, Brock Everett. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James E. and Karen Everett, Dwight "Ike" and Susan Everett, all of Fort Fairfield; two daughters, Sheila Everett of St. Leonard, N. B., Canada, Lynn Nightingale and her husband, Peter, of Fort Fairfield; one sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and Harold Pettibone, of Fenton, Michigan; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 26 at the Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield, where a Vigil service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. by the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Wednesday Oct. 27 at St. Denis Catholic Church, 147 Main St., Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie celebrant. Interment will follow at the Union Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of fellowship will be held at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle St., Fort Fairfield immediately following the interment services. Those who choose may contribute in memory of Mrs. Everett to the Fort Fairfield Alumni Assoc., P.O. Box 201, Fort Fairfield, 04742, or to the charity of one's choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
