"Anna E. Crist, widow of the late John Van Voris, of this village died July 25 at 8:00 p.m., at her home on West Main Street. She was born Oct. 19, 1836, and was the daughter of Samuel B. Crist and Sally A. Hunter. She married Mr. John Van voris Aug. 21, 1878, and has lived in Cobleskill since that time. Mrs. Van Voris was a Sunday school teacher, a member of the M. E. church of this village and of the New Century Club. She was a graduate of the Albany Normal School and taught in Jersey City, N. J., for twenty years. She had a stroke of paralysis twelve years ago, being an invalid during all these years and confined to her bed for the past three years. During her long sickness, she has been administered unto by a nurse. Her husband died twenty-six years ago. She is survived by two nieces, Mis[s] Ernestine Sutton of White Plains, and the other lives in Kentucky. Mrs. Van Voris was a woman of considerable ability and much moral worth.
