Born in West Palm Beach, FL., Michael served in the United States Air force, retiring after 20 years of active service. Michael worked as a locksmith in West Palm Beach until moving to Ocala in 1988. His lifelong passion with trains led him to a career as a conductor with Amtrak.
He is survived by his wife: Glenda Quattlebaum Houck; three beautiful daughters: Genie Hornsby, Carolyn Patterson and Linda Lisk; his brother: Allen Houck and two sisters, Sharry Sochor and Kathy Jo McClendon. Additional survivors include eight grandchildren: Alex, Sean, RJ, Megan, Nicholas, Lindsey, Breanna, and Zachariah.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 5740 S. Pine Avenue, Ocala, FL 34480. Military Honors will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
