Evelyn Esther Horton, 93, of Swansea, passed away, Saturday, August 27, 2016. She was the wife of the late Claude E. Horton.

Evelyn was born in Swansea and was a daughter of the late Irving and Ruth (Caswell) Mayo. She enjoyed gardening, babysitting the local children and camping with her family in New Hampshire and S. Carver. Evelyn was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and lifelong Swansea resident. She cherished the time she spent with her family and will be deeply missed by all know knew her.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Horton of Swansea, Allen Horton and his wife Sheila of N. Canton, OH, and Gary Horton and his wife Chong Suk of Swansea; daughter, Valerie Medeiros of Bowling Green, KY; seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, William, Irving, Alfred, Dorothy, Gladys, Esther and Ethel.

Her funeral service will be held in the Hathaway Community Home for Funerals, 900 Buffinton St., Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Swansea.
